We are talking about our constant companion–the fog. But now researchers are warning of a potential health risk hiding in the mist.
A UC Santa Cruz researcher says the Bay Area’s fog contains measurable amounts of a toxic compound called monomethylmercury. But the problem is not breathing it, but instead, it’s when it gets into the food chain.
