RICHMOND (KRON) — The City of Richmond has dealt with three murders in two weeks, and on Monday night, the cases remain unsolved.

The RYSE Youth Center in Richmond is a popular spot among youngsters. It is a safe place where they can have fun.

It was a location where the latest murder victim was known well.

Police have not named suspects in these latest homicide cases but say they have made more of an effort to take guns off the streets.

Twenty-one-year-old Joshmahl Russell is the latest to be killed. Described as a young man who liked to dance, he was found shot multiple times on Sunday morning.

His death is the third in two weeks. In total, Richmond has had six murders for the year.

Police said they have taken 77 illegal guns off the street since the year started.

Those who knew Russell described what they remembered about him and talked to KRON about the problem at hand.
