OAKLAND (KRON)—Dozens of protesters are outside the Oakland Police Officers’ Association offices and plan on being there for 24 hours.
They are protesting the ongoing violence between police and the African American community nationwide and in the city of Oakland.
Organizers are also protesting issues such as the housing crisis that has displaced some Oakland residents, police accountability, and lack of leadership in Oakland.
Black Lives Matter protesters, the Anti Police Terror Project and other organizations are outside the association. Protesters say they plan to stay there until Oakland Mayor Libby Schaff speaks to them about taking funding away from the Oakland Police Department.
