FREMONT (KRON) — Police are warning Fremont residents of snatch-and-grab thieves targeting people wearing gold chains.
Three gold chain robberies have been reported in three consecutive days, according to police.
The first incident happened last Thursday when a woman had her gold chain ripped from her neck while walking along Mission View Drive around 2:55 p.m.
The suspect was described as a thin, dark-skinned black man weighing roughly 160 pounds and roughly 6 feet tall.
He initially fled on foot, but may have left the area in a silver 4-door Mazda 323 with damage to the rear passenger side quarter panel, police said.
On Friday, someone was robbed near the Ardenwood Forest Apartment on Paseo Padre Parkway.
The third incident happened on Saturday when another woman had a gold chain ripped from her neck at the intersection of Deep Creek and Frederick Roads.
