HAYWARD (BCN) — Police are investigating a homicide that occurred in Hayward Sunday evening.
According to police, officers responded to the 900 block of Cottonwood Avenue at 7:09 p.m. on reports of a man down.
Upon arrival, officers located a man that was suffering from apparent stab wounds. Hayward Fire later pronounced the man dead at the scene.
Witnesses told police the suspect had been involved in an incident with at least two other men, who fled the scene in a white vehicle following the stabbing.
Police said the identification of the decedent is being withheld until next of kin is notified.
