SAN FRANCISCO (KRON) — Officers used surveillance video to arrest one out of the five suspects who robbed and assaulted a victim in San Francisco’s Richmond District, according to police.

Officers arrested 19-year-old Jacobo Padilla of San Francisco on charges of robbery, conspiracy and committing a felony while out on bail.

On October 5th police were dispatched to the 900 block of Point Lobos Avenue on a report of a robbery between a 28-year-old victim and two suspects.

Upon arrival, officers discovered the male victim who appeared to be shaken and had suffered from multiple abrasions to his arms.

After investigation police discovered that one of the suspects shoved the victim to the ground as the other attempted to steal the victim’s camera. The victim had difficulty holding onto the camera as the suspect jumped into a waiting vehicle.

According to police, a third suspect, the driver, drove off and dragged the victim ten feet across asphalt until the victim finally let go of the camera.

The first suspect was unable to get inside the get-away car and was seen running down Point Lobos Avenue until the vehicle slowed down so he could enter, according to the victim.

Police discovered that there was a total of five suspects involved, and all five of the suspects fled the scene in a silver Honda Civic. The year and license plate number is unknown at this time.

Surveillance video was obtained by the police, and they were able to locate the vehicle and apprehend Padilla.

Padilla was booked into the San Francisco County Jail.

Officers are still investigating the incident and searching for the other suspects who participated.
