SAN MATEO (KRON) — Students from three San Mateo high schools walked out Tuesday at around 1:30 p.m.
Aragon, San Mateo, and Hillsdale High School students joined forces to organize this walkout, which they clearly state is not an anti-Trump rally.
The students will be wearing black as they walk to Central Park with police escorts by their sides.
Their goal is to start a peaceful movement that empowers students, and promotes acceptance for people of all walks of life.
A student memo regarding the protest reads, “Accept and celebrate everyone regardless of who you are, where you come from, and who you love!”

Meanwhile in Palo Alto, “peace and unity” were the messages delivered by high school students who cut class late on Tuesday for a march and rally.
The students were sounding off about politics and other issues.
Up to 300 students, mostly from Palo Alto and Gunn high schools, left campus about 2 o’clock and marched along the El Camino,
They were carrying signs and calling to motorists. The goal, they say, was to exercise their First Amendment rights about a range of issues.
Speeches about love and tolerance were made at Lytton Plaza in downtown Palo Alto where many students said the walkout was not necessarily a protest of President-elect Donald Trump, but rather an act of unity to show compassion and respect.
Police kept close watch but there was no trouble.
Many observers honked horns in support or sounded their approval as the students let their voices be heard.
