PACIFICA (KRON) — Pacifica police on Tuesday arrested a suspect in the Halloween attempted kidnapping of a girl, police said.
Police arrested 41-year-old Mark Anthony Soliman in connection with the attempted kidnapping.
Police said the incident happened at around 4:53 p.m. in the area of Hickey Boulevard and Firecrest Avenue. The suspect drove up to the girl, who was walking on the sidewalk, and began honking the horn of his car, authorities said.
The suspect then yelled at the girl to get into his car, police said. When the girl did not, the suspect got out of his car, grabbed the girl, and forced her into his car, police said.
The girl was able to get away and run home, police said. The suspect sped away.
The girl was not hurt.
An investigation led police to identify the registered owner of the car as Soliman, a Pacifica resident. He was arrested at his home at around 2:30 p.m.
He was transported to the San Mateo County Jail and booked on charges of kidnapping a child under 14 years old and annoying or molesting a child.
