YOSEMITE (KRON) — One person was killed and another injured during a rock slide at Yosemite National Park in a popular climbing route Wednesday.
It happened just after 2 p.m. on the East Buttress of El Capitan, Yosemite spokesman Scott Gediman said.
Park rangers and helicopters are searching to see if there are any other victims.
Park Rangers are working to transport the injured person to receive medical care outside of the park.
Yosemite National Park remains open and visitor services are not affected.
El Capitan is a granite monolith above Yosemite Valley.
No other information was immediately available.
