SAN FRANCISCO (KRON) — The San Francisco Medical Examiner has identified a body found inside a suitcase as 58-year-old Omar Shahwan.
Omar’s body was found dismembered inside a suitcase in San Francisco’s South of Market area on January 28th.
An arrest was made shortly after but the suspect, Mark Andrus, was later released. He later died on Saturday after admitting himself to the hospital.
Omar’s family has released the following statement regarding his death.
“Omar was a wonderful son and brother. He had a kind and caring heart. We love him and miss him so much. The lord is our refuge and strength in this terrible time.”
