HAYWARD (KRON) — A new BART car has overshot a test track in Hayward on Friday afternoon, according to spokesperson Taylor Huckabee.
It happened at around 1:55 p.m. between the South Hayward and Union City stations, “where our new test car overshot the track” and went into the mound of dirt at the end of the test track.
The car was going between 5 and 10 miles per hour, Huckabee said.
There was an operator on board, and no injuries were reported.
The car partially is on the track and partially in the dirt. Testing will continue once they get the car back on the track, Huckabee said.
It is not clear if it’s operator error or some other factor.
