BOULDER CREEK (KRON) — A man caught a mountain lion on video snatching a raccoon from his Boulder Creek backyard early Thursday morning.
Michael Fradin captured the video on his cell phone around 2:40 a.m. at a house located six miles north of downtown Boulder Creek in the Santa Cruz Mountains.
In the video, the mountain lion is seen running away with a raccoon in her mouth.
“Ive seen a few….this was something totally different,” Fradin said.
Fradin said he saw the motion light in his backyard turn on, then saw a raccoon run off the hill with the big cat in tow. The raccoon tried to hide under the house with no luck.
Fradin believes the mountain lion is a female around 5 years old.
