PENNSVILLE, New Jersey (KRON/CNN) — A New Jersey woman has been arrested after leading police on a chase through two states on Thursday.
Her six-month-old baby was in the car with her the entire time.
Pennsville Police Chief Allen Cummings says the chain of events began when an officer tried to stop 28-year-old Jaquanda Jones for careless driving.
Jones was allegedly going 60 mph in a 25 mph zone.
Cummings said police eventually called off their pursuit for safety reasons.
When Jones took the exit for the Delaware Memorial Bridge, officials on the Delaware side picked up the pursuit.
They followed Jones until she took an exit leading back to Pennsville.
Jones ended up losing control of the car and crashing into a daycare facility.
The daycare was closed, and no one was injured
Jones was charged with multiple offenses, including endangering the welfare of a child, reckless driving, eluding, and speeding.
Additional charges for offenses in Delaware are also pending.
The baby girl was placed in the care of her grandmother.WHAT OTHERS ARE CLICKING ON:
