CONCORD (KRON) — The man wanted for the murder of a woman found dead in a Concord pond has surrendered Tuesday in Reno, Nevada, according to KRON’s Kate Cagle.
He surrendered to authorities, police said. Concord police are in Reno conducting follow-up interviews with the suspect, 26-year-old Erick Lamar Nelson.
He remains in custody at the Washoe County Jail pending extradition to California.
He was wanted for the May 16 murder of Poinsettia Parks in Newhall Park.
Officers found the body at around 2:36 a.m. at the Newhall Park located at 1351 Newhall Parkway, according to police.
