SAN LEANDRO (KRON) — A man was rescued from a San Leandro creek early Thursday morning, according to Alameda County Fire Department spokeswoman Aisha Knowles.

Knowles said the man was rescued at around 1:48 a.m. from San LeandroCcreek, located in the 1000 block of Bancroft Avenue. The man was in the water for roughly 30 minutes, Knowles said.

Firefighters extricated the man from the creek. Knowles said the man sustained moderate injuries and was taken to the hospital for treatment.

Firefighters said they do not know how the man ended up in the creek.Bay City News contributed to this report
