SAN JOSE (KRON) — A man said he was attacked and stabbed in the chin for playing Pokemon GO in San Jose.

Chris Perguidi, of Gilroy, said he was playing Pokemon GO on Jul. 27 in San Jose, when suddenly, he was confronted by a group of people.

He said the group thought he was recording them. Then, one of them threw a bottle at him and confronted him with a knife.

Perguidi said because of boxing training, he instinctively put his hands up and tucked his chin to protect himself, and that could have saved his life.

He ended up being stabbed in the chin. And although the two people kept attacking him, he eventually fought them off, Perguidi said.

The incident happened between 2 p.m. and 3 p.m.

Perguidi filed a report with San Jose police.

But as of now, the attackers are still out there.

The male suspect was in his 30s, and the female suspect was in her 20s, Perguidi said.

KRON will continue to track this story and bring you updates as they come in.
