OAKLAND (KRON) — Officers responded to a double shooting that occurred on an off-ramp of a California Highway, Wednesday afternoon.
According to a tweet by the California Highway Patrol, the Fruitvale off-ramp from eastbound Interstate 580 was closed down due to a shooting investigation.KRON4’S REAL TIME TRAFFIC MAPS
According to Oakland Police, on the I-580 eastbound off-ramp an adult male and female were discovered suffering from gunshot wounds. Both victims were transported to a nearby hospital and are in stable condition.
Around 3:53 p.m. CHP officers closed down I-580 in the eastbound direction, due to an investigation and searching for evidence.
Authorities have opened all eastbound lanes on I-580 as of 5:19 p.m.
No additional information was available at this time, and crews are still on the scene.
Officers have advised drivers to expect delays for some amount of time.
