LOS GATOS (KRON) — A 23-year old Los Gatos man has filed a civil lawsuit against his adoptive parents, accusing them of years of sexual abuse when he was a child.

Twenty-three-year-old Denis Flynn was born in Russia. After his mother died and a stay at an orphanage, at the age of 9, he was adopted by Ralph and Carolyn Flynn who brought him to the U.S. and their home in Los Gatos.

“I was given a few months to enjoy my new life, and after that, he invited me into the bedroom, and I knew from the beginning it was wrong but fear took over,” Flynn said.

A civil lawsuit filed by Flynn alleged his adoptive parents brought him to the United States with the “intent of making him their sexual slave.”

“I have never seen anything uglier, this is one step below murder,” Flynn’s attorney Richard Alexander said.

Alexander has now filed a 44-count complaint against the Flynns, alleging they abused Denis for nine years of his childhood.

“When he was brought over at age 9, he became a sex slave for this adult male who worked him over hard and then when he was age 15, the female joined in,” Flynn’s attorney Alexander said. “It’s totally outrageous.”

Denis Flynn said he hopes coming forward will inspire other sex abuse victim.

“Hopefully, I inspire some inner courage to speak out because the healing process begins when you begin to tell your truth when you begin to tell your story,” Flynn said.

The Flynns are also facing criminal sexual abuse charges. Ralph Flynn remains behind bars with bail set at $2.5 million.

Carolyn Flynn is out on bail.

Both the Flynns are back in court on April 13 in the criminal case.
