SAN FRANCISCO (KRON) – Local lawmaker Marc Levine stopped by the KRON 4 studio to talk about adding a lane to a congested Bay Area bridge.

The Richmond-San Rafael bridge is heavy in the eastbound direction during the late afternoon commute. State lawmakers hope that a new bill would free up a third lane, which is currently not being used on the span.

Caltrans announced earlier this year that there was a plan to re-open that third lane, however bureaucracy is slowing down the project.
