SAN FRANCISCO (KRON) — The Bay Area is reacting to the death of pop music superstar Prince.

The 57-year-old was found dead Thursday morning at his recording studios in Minnesota, only days after battling a severe flu, officials said.

“Well, first, I didn’t want to believe it was true,” KFOG radio deejay Matt Pinfield said. “I mean 57 years old is so young. I’ve been a Prince fan since I was a teenager. I discovered him around the time of controversy, and I’ve been a fan ever since.”
