(KRON)—KRON4 talked to former San Francisco 49ers Wide Receiver Jerry Rice on Saturday.
Rice says he’s okay with Colin Kaepernick’s protest saying it’s his first amendment right.
“This is what our forefathers fought for, the freedom of speech and I commend him on bringing awareness to some issues that we really need to deal with,” Rice said. “But for me as a kid growing up, I always stood for the national anthem you know it’s just something about those soldiers you know giving their lives, so I could be able to really be successful here in America.”
