VALLEJO (KRON) — A family has been displaced after illegal fireworks sparked a fire that torched their home in Vallejo Tuesday morning, according to fire officials.

At 1:15 a.m., firefighters responded to a reported structure fire at 103 Dieninger Street.

The fire was extinguishing within about 45 minutes but the home was badly damaged and deemed uninhabitable.

An investigation revealed that the fire was caused by illegal fireworks.

The fireworks had been discarded on the side of the house, according to fire officials.

Two adults and one child were displaced by the fire. The Red Cross is assisting them with housing.
