HAYWARD (KRON) — Hayward police chief Diane Stuart has been placed on administrative leave, according to city manager Kelly McAdoo.

Stuart was placed on administrative leave pending a personnel investigation. Captain Mark Koller will be serving as acting chief until further notice.

Stuart became Hayward police chief in Aug. 2011, according to her bio.

“Diane is a graduate of the Police Executive Research Forum Senior Management Institute for Police (SMIP) and the West Point Leadership Program hosted by the Los Angeles Police Department where she is a member of the teaching staff,” Stuart’s bio said.

Stuart started her career in law enforcement with the San Jose Police Department in 1986.

She was recently awarded the inaugural “Defender of Liberty” award from Chabot Community College, according to her bio.

Authorities have not released any further information.
