CONCORD (BCN) — A 31-year-old man arrived at a hospital with a gunshot wound on Tuesday evening, triggering an investigation into a possible highway shooting in Concord, according to police.

Concord police officials said officers responded at 7:32 p.m. Tuesday to a report of a man arriving at John Muir Medical Center with a gunshot wound not considered life-threatening.

The Concord resident was dropped off at the hospital, police said, and those who dropped him off had left prior to the arrival of officers.

The events leading up to his arrival at the hospital are still being investigated, but police said it’s believed a shooting occurred on northbound state Highway 242 near Grant Street.

The suspects may have been driving a black four-door vehicle, according to police.
