SAN JOSE (KRON)—People came together to make sure everyone has a Thanksgiving meal on their table Thursday in the South Bay

Sacred Heart Community Services in San Jose hit its goal of collecting 4,200 turkeys for the holiday.

Earlier this week, they had only collected half of that number, but generous people stepped up with last minute donations including 1,000 turkeys from Presentation High School.

Sacred Heart says it collected enough food to feed nearly 17,000 people.
