(KRON) — A real Christmas grinch is being blamed for destroying a holiday parade float in Alabama.

The float, made to resemble a Whoville house in the Dr. Seuss classic “How the Grinch Stole Christmas,” was created by Lost and Found Pets, which reunites missing pets with their owners.

But while towing the float to the Huntsville parade, a person in a car flipped a cigarette onto it. And it quickly went up in flames.

Luckily, no one was hurt in the fire. And the group was able to salvage enough materials to set up a second float in time.

“We pulled it together and everybody is going to work together and get what we can. And the people are still here, so that’s the good part,” organizer Jeananne Jackson said.

As for the grinch, police have no leads and no witnesses to help them find the suspect.
