BERKELEY (KRON) — It was a great day for 30 girls graduating and heading off to college.
Last week, a national non-profit called Girls Inc. gave the girls everything from school supplies to dormitory items to make their college transition a little easier.
They even gave the girls computers and graphing calculators.
The event was held at UC Berkeley to celebrate their achievements. The non-profit aims to help girls, particularly those in low-income families.
And many of those are the first in their families to go to college.
