REDDING (KRON) — One woman continues to feel heartbreak as her long-time friend continues to be missing in Shasta County.
According to Shasta County Sheriff Investigators, 34-year-old Sherri Papini went missing on Nov. 2, while jogging near her home in Redding.
Longtime friend Melissa King has spoken out in disbelief, and is still shocked that he friend for decades is still missing.
“This is my best friend I didn’t even know what to think you’re searching everything and you’re thinking it’s got to be this awful joke that somebody is playing, King said. “It’s like she vanished into thin air she’s just gone.”
Investigators said Papini’s cell phone was discovered near her home, and they have received numerous of tips but there has been no sign of her.
According to sheriff deputies, Papini’s husband has been ruled out as a possible suspect. The case is listed as suspicious and investigators believe that Papini is at risk.
Authorities are still trying to understand if Papini left on her own, or was kidnapped.
King said she will continue to remain positive during this troubling time.
