SANTA CLARA COUNTY (KRON) –Floodwaters from Coyote Canal shut down part of Highway 101 in Santa Clara County Monday afternoon.

Coyote Canal is a side channel along Coyote Creek.
Water crews were monitoring the rising waters much of Monday morning.
Fladeboe reports that a breach in the canal is what started the flood.

The northbound lanes of Highway 101 in Santa Clara County between Cochrane and Bailey Roads are closed due to flooding, while the southbound lanes remain open.
Officials expect to reopen the northbound lanes late Wednesday evening.
