MARIN COUNTY (KRON) — Fifteen people and a dog have been rescued after a 50-foot fishing boat hit the rocks on the north end of the Golden Gate Bridge Thursday afternoon.

The crash happened near Kirby Cove around 4:45 p.m.

The sportfishing vessel took on water and became grounded at Kirby Cove in the Marin Headlands in the Golden Gate National Recreation area outside the Golden Gate Bridge, Coast Guard Sector San Francisco Lt. Luciana Ganley said.

The U.S. Coast Guard, the U.S. Park police, the Marin County Sheriff’s Office and the Marin County Fire Water Rescue helped save them.

The Sonoma County Sheriff’s Office sent a helicopter to the scene.

No injuries were reported.

Those aboard the vessel were transported to another location, Ganley said.
