CONTRA COSTA COUNTY (KRON)—People who live in the East Bay were trying to find ways to keep cool.
KRON4’s Lydia Pantazes reports.
It got hot Saturday in Contra Costa County.
But Sunday, some people are saying they’re going to stay indoors or wait til it cools down to even try and go outside.
We caught up with families who did just that Saturday.
The Batista family waited til about 6 o’clock to take their kids to the playground.
They also made sure to pack extra water.
“If it’s 90 or above we’re going to stay inside as much as possible come to the park in the evenings like right around dusk, stay inside with the air conditioning, anything above 90 I’m not that comfortable with not gonna lie,” Fabian Batista said.
We did also visit some designated cooling centers.
None of them were being used as cooling centers Saturday, but once the weather heats up people are welcomed to use them.
Many include senior centers and library’s across the East Bay.
