Video: East Bay rattled by quake swarm

Concord (KRON) KRON4’s Terisa Estacio was in Concord this morning getting reaction to the East Bay quake swarm.

A magnitude 3.2 earthquake rattled Concord Wednesday morning, followed just 30 minutes later by a magnitude 3.6.


Around 7:35 a.m., a third quake, this time a magnitude 2.6 shook the area.

This map shows the epicenters of Wednesday’s earthquakes.

The United States Geological Survey reported the first quake at 7:01 a.m. with a depth of 8.6 miles, or 13 kilometers. It was centered just a mile southwest of Concord and 2 miles northeast of Pleasant Hill.

According to a viewer from Walnut Creek, “this morning’s earthquake woke me up. It was a quick jolt.”

This is the sixth quake to strike in the Concord area in the past four days.

This map shows the location of all of the earthquakes in the area for the past seven days.

Sunday afternoon, a magnitude 3.6 temblor stuck. It was followed just minutes later by a magnitude 3.0 quake. The next day, Monday, the city was hit with a magnitude 2.8 earthquake.
