San Francisco police are investigating a fatal hit and run early Wednesday.
According to SFPD, officers responded to a hit-and-run crash in the area of Bush and Leavenworth Streets just before 3:30 a.m.
Right now, preliminary information indicates that a woman was crossing Bush Street at Leavenworth when she was hit by a dark-colored vehicle.
The driver fled the scene.
The woman was sent to the hospital with life-threatening injuries. She died a short time later.
The victims has since been identified as 58-year-old Teresita Collins of San Francisco.
Video released by SFPD shows the suspect vehicle, a small dark-colored car, travel from right to left and stop on the far side of a parked SUV.
The suspect, who appears to be a woman, comes into view and walks to the back of her car, appearing to look back down the street. She then returns to her car and drives away.
Authorities are asking the driver involved to contact SFPD’s 24 hour tip line at 415-575-4444 as soon as possible to arrange an interview regarding the crash.
