CONCORD (KRON) — The dead body of a male that was discovered in a ditch on Wednesday afternoon in Concord has been identified as 28-year-old Frank Fernandez of Bay Point, according to the coroners office.
Concord police received a call at 12:20 p.m. on a report of a dead body of a white male in his 20’s on the side of Willow Pass Road between Lynwood Drive and the Kinne Bridge overcrossing, according to Cpl. Christopher Blakely.
Officers arrived to the scene and confirmed the man was dead.
The autopsy on the body has been completed but the cause of death is unknown at this time, according to the coroner’s office.
Concord Police Department remained on scene after discovering the body and motor teams and investigators were out assisting the incident on Wednesday afternoon.
Willow Pass Road between Avila Road and Lynwood Drive was shut down in both directions due to police investigation. The road closure remained in effect for several hours. The public was advised to take alternate routes. Traffic was backed up on Willow Pass Road due to the investigation.
