(KRON) — San Francisco Police are looking for four suspects who tased and robbed a taxi cab driver.
The attacked happened on Aug. 2 in the Potrero Hill neighborhood. The cab driver picked up four people at Market and Mason streets.
They first told the driver to take them to Third Street and then to Potrero Road Hill by Texas Fire Road.
That is when the suspect in the front seat told the driver he didn’t have cash and that he would go inside his house and get the money, police said.
The suspect even leaves his phone behind as collateral, but when he returns, he tases the driver in the neck.
The driver tries to escape, but a second suspect opens the door and continues to attack the driver.
Officers said the attack is rare.
The driver was able to run away from the attack and is going to be OK.
The suspects got away with the driver’s backpack, cellphone, and his wallet.
Police say they are in need of the public’s help in solving this crime. If you saw the incident please call the SFPD tipline at (415) 575-4444.
