PACIFICA (KRON) — Pacifica Pier is being monitored Friday morning as heavy rain and winds are picking up with this week’s storm.
There is standing water along Pacifica Pier’s pavement. Public Works crews are monitoring and checking the area for proper drainage.
Crews are checking up and removing sand near drainage pumps in an effort to maintain correct drainage and avoid flooding.
On Friday afternoon, the city said the demolition of 320 Esplanade Avenue will happen Saturday starting at 9 a.m. The demolition will take about four-to-five days to finish.
The building has been vacant since 2010 due to the erosion of the nearby bluffs.
The Pacifica Pier is prone to flooding, especially in high surf conditions.
