FREMONT (KRON) — A Fremont couple woke up to a burglar stealing cash from their home in Fremont early Monday morning, according to police.
The burglary was reported around 4:19 a.m. in Fremont’s Mission Valley neighborhood, police said.
The couple was sleeping in their bed when they woke up around 2 a.m. to a door closing in their kitchen, according to police.
The woman got up to investigate and saw a flashlight. She then yelled, “Who’s there?”
A strange man then ran past her and fled the home, police said.
Police said the burglary had gained entry to the residence by breaking a window.
The burglar, who was wearing gloves, was able to steal money out of a desk drawer in the house.
The suspect was described as a white man wearing a black rain jacket and black sweatpants. He was roughly 6 feet 2 inches tall and 250 pounds.
