Video: Comet plunges toward the Sun at a million miles per hour

(KRON)  A comet met a fiery end, plunging into the sun at more than a million miles an hour.

ESA and NASA’s Solar and Heliospheric Observatory captured the event that happened in the last 24 hours. The comet was vaporized and torn apart as it whipped around the sun.

The comet which was spotted on August 1st was part of the Kreutz family of comets.
