MORAGA (KRON)—A car fire has caused a brush fire and closed roads in Moraga Tuesday afternoon, according to police.

The fire was reported around 1:32 p.m.

When crews arrived, they saw a car was on fire 40 feet from a road and near a small creek. About 2 acres of grass and brush was burned, firefighters said.

Canyon Road between Constance Place and Pinehurst Road was closed as emergency crews were trying to rescue those injured in the crash. The road has since been reopened.

One man was found inside the car with burns and has been airlifted to a nearby burn center, according to Moraga-Orinda Fire Chief Stephen Healy.

The one-alarm fire has been extinguished and took crews just 20 minutes to put out.

The fire burned in a cattle ranch, and no livestock was injured, firefighters said.

No other structures have been threatened.
