PALO ALTO (KRON) — Palo Alto police are investigating a daytime burglary in which two suspects kicked in the front door of a home but ran away when they saw the female resident inside, according to police.
Police said it happened on Thursday evening at around 5:50 p.m. in the 1300 block of Dana Avenue. The victim, a woman in her 60s, was home alone when she heard a crashing noise from the front of her house, police said.
When she went to see what happened, she found her front door kicked in and saw a man standing inside, police said. When she yelled at him and scared him, another man came running down the stairs, according to police.
Both men immediately ran away without stealing any property.
Officers were called to the area but did not find the suspects.
Both suspected are described as men in their 20s or 30s, with dark skin, possibly Polynesian. They are about 6 feet tall and roughly 250 pounds, police said.
One suspect was wearing orange shorts and a gray T-shirt, and the other suspect was wearing dark shorts or pants and a shirt with a stripe on it.
