A Delaware Burger King that shut down just days ago after video posted to social media apparently showed rodents scurrying among hamburger buns has since reopened.
According to the News Journal of Wilmington, the Division of Public Health’s Dr. Karyl Rattay cited rodent infestation and gross, unsanitary conditions for the closure last week.
Dr. Rattay also cited an “imminent health hazard” for closing the fast food location, according to a June 1 letter to the Burger King location’s owner, Rackson Restaurants LLC.
According to the inspection report, rodent droppings were found inside the hamburger and chicken sandwich rolls.
Droppings were also found behind the fryers.
According to the News Journal, the restaurant was open for business Tuesday morning and there was even a sign on the front door reading, “Now hiring cashiers and sandwich makers.”
