SAN FRANCISCO (KRON)—Former San Francisco 49er player Bruce Miller has been charged with 7 felonies and 1 misdemeanor in connection with an incident that occurred on Monday at a San Francisco hotel, according to the District Attorney’s Office.
Miller is accused of using a cane as a weapon to attack a 70-year-old man and his 29-year-old son.

Miller is charged as follows:
-1 count of assault with a deadly weapon, not a firearm (weapon alleged is a cane) – Felony
-1 count of assault with force likely to cause great bodily injury – Felony
-1 count of inflicting injury on an elder or dependent adult likely to cause great bodily injury – Felony
-1 count of battery with serious bodily injury – felony
-2 counts of criminal threats – felonies
-1 count of assault with force likely to cause great bodily injury – felony
-1 count of battery – misdemeanor
There are multiple allegations and enhancements because one of the two victims is considered an elderly adult.
Miller will be arraigned on Friday at 1:30 p.m.

San Francisco police officers arrested Miller at the Marriott Fisherman’s Wharf hotel in San Francisco on Monday after responding to reports of a drunk person around 2:45 a.m.
Officers found out a man, later identified by witnesses as Miller, tried getting into a hotel room that had a 66-year-old woman and a 70-year-old man inside.
The couple’s 29-year-old son was staying in the room next door and told Miller the room was not his. Miller allegedly attacked the son. When the 70-year-old man tried to stop him, Miller allegedly attacked him, too, police said.
The two men were taken to the hospital. Miller was found across the street at the Travelodge hotel where he was arrested.
After Miller’s arrest, the San Francisco 49ers decided to drop Miller from the team.
Before the hotel attack occurred, the manager of Tommy’s Joynt told KRON4 Miller was inside the sandwich shop asking guests to buy him a sandwich.
In June 2015, Miller pleaded no contest to misdemeanor charge of disturbing the peace in connection with an incident in March of that year involving his ex-fiancée. In that case, Miller allegedly threw the woman’s cellphone and smashed it during an argument at a Santa Clara hotel.
