SONOMA COUNTY (KRON) — A driver had a close call on a road in Sonoma County.

A huge rock crashed through the windshield of his car, barely missing him.

In fact, it grazed his right shoulder, causing him to flinch and steer into a tree. This all happened on Cazadero Highway near Guerneville.

The Monte Rio fire chief thinks the driver was doubly lucky because he said the tree stopped the car from ending up in Austin Creek.

The rock was big enough to fill the front passenger seat.

It fell about 40 feet from a cliff side.
