UPDATE: System-wide delays are down to 10 minutes.
SAN FRANCISCO (KRON) — Bay Area Rapid Transportation is experiencing major system-wide delays Friday morning due to a disabled maintenance vehicle between Macathur and 19th Street.
The vehicle lost its wheel and was stuck on the tracks until a new wheel could be delivered and attached.
BART officials reported that service through the Transbay Tube was completely shut down around 4:30 a.m.
Trains were turning around, as service was halted from San Francisco to the East Bay and vice versa.
Service has been restored and trains are now moving in all directions, but there is still a 20-minute system-wide delay, according to BART officials.
