(KRON) — Antioch Police have arrested two suspects in last week’s hate crime.
Last Wednesday morning surveillance video captured one of the suspects tossing a Molotov cocktail at the home on McCormick Court.
Firefighters responded to the house fire on the 5100 block of McCormick Court at around 3:12 a.m.
The suspects are a 27-year-old male and a 25-year-old female who are also accused of spray painting the home with racial slurs and a swastika.
Investigators believe a dispute between a person at the victims’ residence and a relative of McDaniel led to the two suspects allegedly setting the occupied home on fire using a Molotov cocktail and painting a racial slur and swastika on the house.
The two were booked into jail on suspicion of several offenses including conspiracy, attempted murder, mayhem, torture, assault with a deadly weapon and arson, as well as hate crime enhancements.
Roy Charles Sorvari and Christyne Gail McDaniel are being held on more than one million dollars in bail.
Police tell KRON4 News it appears the crime was a result of an ongoing dispute.
The homeowner was inside at the time of the attack.
No one was hurt but there was fire damage to the garage and roof.
The homeowner immediately painted over the racial slurs what were in several places around the home.
Nobody was hurt, and the case is still under investigation.
