OAKLAND (KRON) — April Fool’s day came early for Golden State Warriors center Festus Ezeli.
With the help of Lyft, Andre Iguodala tricked Ezeli into thinking he was cut from the team.
Ezeli has had a few injuries over the years but with the Warriors impressive 68-7 record, there’s no reason for the team to make any changes to the roster.
Ezeli still fell for it, especially after Iguodala got his teammates to send him texts saying that it was a “pleasure working with you.”
The prank begins with Ezeli getting into a Lyft while Iguodala follows close behind feeding lines to Ezeli’s Lyft driver through a walkie-talkie.
The Lyft driver then turns on a fake radio talk show that breaks the news that Ezeli has been cut. Ezeli’s face fills with shock and confusion. Hilarity ensues.
