BERKELEY (KRON) — Berkeley police are investigating an altercation that resulted in a shooting at Strawberry Creek Park on Wednesday, according to Sgt. Andrew Frankel.
Two reported gunshot victims, both minors, have been transported to hospitals, Frankel said.
Just after 3 p.m. this afternoon, two groups met for a fight in Strawberry Creek Park, Berkeley police Lt. Dan Montgomery said.
The fight appears to have been planned. Witnesses said that the total number of people involved in the fight may have been about 20.
At one point, a party in one group pulled out a gun and fired some shots into the air, police said. The second group then fired back at the group, targeting people.
Two boys were ultimately transported to hospitals. One boy was shot in the shoulder, and the other was shot in the leg.
Their conditions are not known at this time.
The group scattered shortly after the shooting, police said.
No suspects are in custody.
There are also no known suspects.
