VIDEO: All lanes reopen after shooting shuts down Interstate 80 east of American Canyon

AMERICAN CANYON (KRON) — Heavy police activity shut down both directions of Interstate 80 just east of American Canyon on Friday night, authorities said.

All lanes have since reopened.


The California Highway Patrol said a man in his 20s was shot in the torso. He is 26 years old, according to KRON4’s Lydia Pantazes.

The victim was driving a white Mercedes and traveling eastbound. After the shooting, he crashed his car.

The 26-year-old is a Vallejo resident.

No suspect information is available at this time.

The man suffered non-life-threatening injuries.

Police shut down the lanes to collect evidence, and no suspect information is available.

Investigators do not know whether there was a passenger in the suspect car or if the driver of that suspect car was the shooter.

A dark colored SUV was involved, according to the victim.
