SAN RAMON (KRON) — A 26-year-old male is being rescued and air lifted from Mount Diablo State Park on Wednesday afternoon.
The male is believed to have slipped and fell near climbing rocks. It is unclear how far the male fell.
His climbing partner called the south gate entrance of the park for rescue assistance.
Supervisor ranger, Dan Stefanisko, responded and notified San Ramon Valley Fire.
Stefanisko was treating to male for back pain until fire officials arrived.
It is unconfirmed if the male lost consciousness.
Once San Ramon Fire Department arrived on scene with a truck an ambulance but the male was rescued by air, according to San Ramon Valley Fire Department Chief Derek Krause.
The male was rescued by rope line and airlifted to a nearby hospital.
