OAKLAND (KRON) — Two women were shot dead in Oakland Wednesday morning in separate shootings, according to police.

At 6:47 a.m., the city’s Shotspotter gunfire detection system alerted police to gunfire in the 5800 block of International Boulevard, police said.

People in the area also called 911 to report the shots.

Upon arrival, police found a woman suffering from gunshot wounds outside the Rainbow Recreation Center.

She was pronounced dead there, police said.

Another woman was shot and killed in Oakland just hours before in a separate shooting.

At 12:11 a.m., a woman was shot while sitting in a car in the 4000 block of Alameda Avenue. She was taken to a hospital where she was pronounced dead.

No arrested have been made in either homicide.
